Clara Dyck RN, MSN, CHPCN(C)

I’ve spent more than 20 years working across home health, hospice, and long-term care, supporting teams to deliver care that is both compassionate and practical. My career has combined frontline nursing with senior-level roles in education, program development, and policy work—shaping approaches that help staff feel confident and supported in complex situations.

My contributions span provincial and national initiatives aimed at strengthening a palliative approach, including collaborative work with SPA-LTC, where I helped advance tools and practices for long-term care settings. Much of my work has focused on building capacity within teams—developing education, supporting clinical decision-making, and helping organizations translate best practices into everyday care.

I approach palliative care by meeting people where they are and creating the conditions for staff, residents, and families to feel informed and supported. Experience in Serious Illness Conversations, Advance Care Planning, and trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care guides how I work with individuals and teams.

What continues to motivate me is simple: strong caregivers create strong systems. Helping organizations build that strength—through education, collaboration, and thoughtful structures—is at the core of my practice.
